Jack Dromey MP Working hard for Birmingham Erdington

The Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, has today announced that the Government will be introducing a scheme to support the self-employed comparable to the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme that supports employees.
The move comes after calls from MPs across Parliament for measures to support the estimated 5 million self-employed people in the UK.
Jack Dromey MP said:
“Today the Chancellor has announced a range of measures aimed at supporting the self-employed. Along with many colleagues from across Parliament, I have been campaigning for the Government to introduce a package of support comparable to that offered to employees.
“I welcome the measures that have now been introduced, although I recognise that not everyone will be covered by this scheme. I will continue to press for further progress to be made.”
