Jack Dromey has been re-elected as Member of Parliament for Birmingham Erdington with a majority of 3,601, he has held the seat since the 2010 General Election.
Jack Dromey said:
“It has been an honour to be re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Erdington. The Jaguar workers, the school gate mums, ex-police officers, local businesses, the rich diversity of Erdington and the faiths. I would like to thank everyone who put their trust in me to represent them. I can assure everyone in Erdington that I will continue to stand up and fight tirelessly for them in Parliament.
I would also like to thank the hundreds of volunteers who gave up their own time to support the campaign. Our victory in Erdington could never have been achieved without your commitment and dedication.
Nationally, it was a disastrous evening for the Labour Party. We have let down millions of working people who will now suffer at the hands of five more years of Tory rule. We must learn the lessons of this election defeat and reconnect with the country and traditional Labour voters. Only then can a future Labour government be elected and fundamentally change the country for the better.”
